Cost-Effective Harvesting with Pedestals

We wanted to find a simple and affordable way to reach the higher parts of the trees – without adding complexity or extra costs. A machine equipped with pedestals on both sides can be used by up to four people at the same time (two on the top and two on the bottom). In some cases, it can even cover the entire tree – for example in young orchards, Guyot systems, or on slopes over 20%. Thanks to the slope compensation, the downhill side of the machine lifts slightly, which raises the pedestals and allows workers to reach higher areas when picking downwards.

Multiple Picking Cycles

The pedestal system pays off especially when several picking cycles are required. Here, the advantage of easy maneuverability and simple transport becomes particularly clear. You can work faster, more flexibly, and cover different height levels without effort – you simply have more possibilities. And all that without blocking the holy lifting platform. 😉

Support for the Lifting Platform

During peak harvest periods, lifting platforms are often fully occupied, especially when the upper tree sections ripen in several orchards at the same time. With the harvesting pedestals, part of the work in the middle and higher areas can be done without using the lifting platform. Some growers use the pedestals specifically for the middle area, so the lifting platform is only needed for the very top sections. This helps save unnecessary trips, adjustments, and waiting times.

Two Versions: Medium and Higher Area

Since not everyone needs the same working height, there are two fixed versions. Some growers want to work as high as possible (higher area version) to potentially reach the entire tree, while others use the pedestals mainly as a support for their existing machines in the medium area. Check out how to install the pedestals onto the machine in this short video.

Medium Area Version

Standing height: 0.65 – 0.85 m
Tree area reach: approx. 1.50 – 2.70 m
Suitable tree / row width: 2.70 – 3.40 m

Higher Area Version

Standing height: 1.15 – 1.25 m
Tree area reach: approx. 2.00 – 3.20 m
Suitable tree / row width: 2.70 – 3.40 m
